Go with the Flow…No Matter What

“All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.” – Julian of Norwich

“Flow with whatever is happening and let your mind be free. Stay centered by accepting whatever you are doing. This is the ultimate.” – Chuang Tzu

When you go with your flow, you accept what is and trust that everything will work out no matter what, even in life’s most difficult and challenging times.

Going with the flow is about surrendering to what is…no matter what. It’s about accepting whatever is happening in the moment. It’s releasing yourself from fear and struggle no matter what you are going through by allowing the wisdom of the Universe also known as God or Divine Intelligence to direct your life and work things out for the best.

Despite the challenges and difficulties you may be facing it’s important to trust the journey you’re on and to go with the flow of what is happening and unfolding in your life that is beyond your control. The more you resist what is happening the more unnecessary struggle and suffering you cause yourself because the energy you use in resisting what is, blocks your ability to see and embrace what blessings and opportunities life is offering you. Resistance creates noise and blurred vision that doesn’t allow you to see and hear the solutions and guidance that can help you most.

Why do I say “no matter what” when it comes to living in your flow? It’s much like wedding vows which ask you to promise to love each other for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. Well it’s also possible to live in the flow of life through the ups and downs, and the twists and turns of your life. No matter what is happening in your life, you can trust the powerful flow of life to guide you through all challenges.

Of course this is easier said than done when faced with seemingly insurmountable difficulties, an unexpected crisis, or unspeakable tragedy. What I’m referring to are the everyday challenges and struggles you come up against – the flat tire, the overflowing laundry, the leaking roof, the screaming kids, the traffic jams. It’s these life obstacles and headaches that really drive us crazy on a day to day basis.

There’s also the bigger stuff like the movers pack you up to move cross country and you get the bill for about six thousand dollars more than you anticipated (this actually happened to us); or you’re are about to move across country only to find out a few weeks before that the apartment you planned to lease falls through because the tenant decided to stay and you’re scrambling to find a place to live from 3000 miles away (this too happened to us); or your husband gets hit on his bike by a hit and run driver and he’s immobile for two and half months with a broken pelvis and tailbone and yes this too happened to us all within just over a two month span. It’s these kinds of life setbacks and events we need to learn to move through more often than the major life crises we might have to face one day.

So how do you deal with these little or somewhat big setbacks and difficulties?

You must first accept what is as Divine Order.

When you are facing a difficult situation and feeling stressed, frustration, fear, or emotional pain let whatever is happening be okay. Accept this moment exactly as it is.

Deepak Chopra says, “Accept people, circumstances, situations and events as they occur. Because everything is exactly as it should be.” It is neither good nor bad. It just is and it is happening to teach us something so that we can grow and evolve into our greater and most compassionate selves. It is happening for reasons unforeseen yet the highest good for all concerned is unfolding.

When you go with the flow, opportunities open up, the right people show up, things fall into place, obstacles melt away, and everything works out for your greater good.

When you go with the flow, life somehow miraculously and magically works out with little effort on your part except the willingness to take inspired action when guided to do so and to trust that the outcome will be just fine.

Things may not always work out the way you had envisioned but if you remain open to infinite possibilities they will work out to support your evolution and growth and most likely they will work out better than you could have ever imagined. We hear stories all the time of something bad happening that eventually ended up turning into a blessing in disguise.

In fact, it turns out that we found an even better place to live that was less money and fully furnished so we actually cut our moving cost down as well and my husband got to spend more quality time with his family while recuperating that would not have happened otherwise. So you see, you should always remain open to unforeseen possibilities because you never know what lies around the corner that can lead to unimaginable blessings.

The bottom line is that things will always somehow work out whether you know how they will or not. Your job is to have faith and trust the Flow of the Universe no matter what, knowing that it is all going to be okay one way or another and that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
