Personal Highlights

  • I was blessed by Mother Theresa in what was Calcutta, India then (Kolkata, India now), when I was 21 years old.
  • I’ve whitewater rafted in the Himalayas, climbed the Great Wall of China, and taken what seems like a hundred pictures of the Taj Mahal.
  • I love motorcycles but I have young children who prefer their mother find less risky ways to feed her adventurous spirit.
  • I have a lot in common with President Obama – He grew up in Hawaii, I’ve been to Hawaii. His oldest daughter is named Malia, My middle name is Malia. He went to Harvard, I married someone who went to Harvard, in fact they even played basketball together (shout out Mr. President from Thomas Stewart). And don’t get me started on what I have in common with Oprah. I’m just saying.
  • My all-time favorite movies are Pretty Woman, When Harry Met Sally and Godfather I & II. Just call me a Hopelessly Romantic Gangsta!
  • Just over 5 years ago my family & I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, which had been a dream of mine for nearly 30 years. Don’t you love it when dreams come true?!
  • I suffered from depression for over 20 years from childhood to my mid-thirties when I found a homeopathic doctor who changed my life along with doing a lot of spiritual work and healing. I’ve been on the other side for over 10 years. I have a down day or days here and there like anyone but I’m no longer stuck in darkness like I use to be. Life is definitely brighter now way more often than not!
  • My most powerful experience: Enduring over thirty hours of labor (half of which were beyond excruciating) in the natural home births of both my children (I must say not a good time to give up doing drugs, not that I ever did drugs.)
  • My second most powerful experience was when I skydived a few years ago. Truly an amazing experience and I highly recommend you try it if you don’t mind signing that “I will not sue you if I die” waiver, which is kind of funny because I do believe dead people can’t sue.
  • I’m unschooling both my children! And it is definitely the hardest yet most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. Everyday I doubt some aspect of my choice yet know in my heart and soul I am doing the right thing for my family.
  • My spiritual practice is pretty eclectic and involves sacred geometry, witchcraft, shamanism, crystals and gems, numerology, chakra balancing, meditation, yoga, breath work, spirit animals, flower essences, aromatherapy (essential oils, incense), herbs, sound therapy, EFT and more depending on what is most healing and uplifting at the time
  • I love traveling, trying new things, reading, writing, tea parties, all things French, spiritual alchemy, cannabis, researching and exploring whatever piques my interest in the moment (which means I go down the rabbit hole a lot), and sharing anything I find valuable to living a conscious life by your own design. I love being pampered at the spa, eating great food, and hanging out with really smart and passionate people. There’s nothing better than going to a great restaurant in one of my favorite cities (New York, Montreal, San Francisco, Oakland, DC …) and enjoying amazing food and great conversation with my really cool and down-to-earth peeps. Except for the smiles, laughter, hugs + kisses, and love of my children. Now, that’s the absolute best!
  • And if you want to see all the things I love, value and adore besides my children check out my pinterest boards!
  • New Favorite Quote: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
  • Another quote I love – “My life is my message.” – Gandhi (which pretty much says it all)
  • If I had to describe myself in two words today it would be Curious and Non-conforming…I’m always learning, growing, changing my mind, and contradicting myself. I’m a Radical Alchemist and a Gemini – two minds or four…Bottomline don’t put me in a box!
