In the last post I talked about the Power of Flower Essences to help you release what needs to be released so that you are free to create what you want to create in your life. Another release technique that has been emerging for years, that is hugely powerful in releasing you from your sabotaging subconscious and in achieving the emotional freedom you need to truly move your life forward yet still too few people know about or understand is the Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT.
EFT also informally known as Tapping is a blend of acupuncture without needles and modern psychology, sort of like East meets West.
This emerging field of “energy psychology” involves tapping the meridian points or acupoints of the body. The meridian network or system is the basis of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM believes in an energy path or channel through which the vital life force or qi flows.
Acupuncture targets a meridian point to unblock the energy flow of that particular meridian. With Tapping the same is done except without the needles. You essentially tap using your fingertips on the meridian points in your body to release the flow of energy and thereby transform the stress, pain, trauma, limiting beliefs and patterns that have kept you trapped and stuck in life.
So you can think of tapping as an advanced form of acupuncture, as well as a simplified form in which anyone can learn and do for themselves.
The unfortunate thing is that many people dismiss it before giving it a try because tapping actually looks really strange to do especially if you haven’t been educated on how and why it works and even then it still takes some getting use to practicing this weird looking technique.
I have to admit I was one of those people who dismissed it before really understanding it.
The interesting thing is that I am a big proponent of psychotherapy, alternative healing remedies, and Eastern medicine but for some reason when I heard about EFT I was skeptical to put it mildly even though it’s a blend of all these things.
In fact when I first heard of tapping and saw it done over ten years ago I was not only skeptical but I completely disregarded it with no consideration whatsoever because I thought it was the latest in some weird crazy ass woo woo nonsense.
It turns out that there is actual science behind EFT that all of us should take a look at before dismissing it as weird and crazy. Yes it looks a bit strange when you see people doing it and it’s hard to explain exactly how and why it works but it does and it’s taken me years to see and acknowlegde the incredible benefits people are experiencing from it.
The sad part is that I too could have been benefiting all these years from the power of EFT but I was just too closed-minded to give it a fair try which is shocking to me because I consider myself not only a very open-minded person but also unconventional but for some reason I wasn’t ready to embrace it, not until a friend of mine whom was to me the least likely person to do tapping told me about her experience with it. This was after I had started hearing more buzz about it particularly from spiritual thought leaders I admire.
So I listened to my friend’s story of how she was able to heal years of childhood trauma with tapping and I got real curious, then I got Nick Ortner’s book, The Tapping Solution, did some more research, watched some videos and gave it a try to experience the benefits of tapping for myself.
I regret it took me so long to see the life-changing power of EFT and how it can help each of us clear and release our limiting beliefs and patterns and let go of the baggage that has been weighing us down and holding us back from living more joyful and fulfilling lives.
But I know better now and so I intend to do better by using EFT as a tool in my arsenal to free me from my baggage and I invite you to do the same. Just know that it is a process. So don’t expect instant miracles. You really do have to practice the art and science of Tapping to experience the full benefits.
Clearly I cannot teach you the Tapping method right now but it is easy to learn and you can do EFT yourself anywhere, anytime and again it’s absolutely free. It doesn’t cost you anything but your open-mindedness and a bit of your time to learn the technique.

One resource I highly recommend is Nick Ortner’s book, The Tapping Solution and the website by the same name. Both are two great resources to get you started with learning more about EFT and its powerful benefits.

I am still a newbie to EFT and as I continue to learn more about it I realize that it is an ongoing process that can be used to heal many layers of stuff that has accumulated over decades. But I am committed to the process as I have already seen amazing results in just a short amount of time and know that you will too.
So I hope I have at the very least made you curious enough to give Tapping a try and test it for yourself. You will look and feel funny doing it at first but trust me once you get pass that you will find your own flow and rhythm with Tapping and only wish you had tried it sooner.
